Thinking about joining the Patreon or SubscribeStar but have questions? Here are some answers to the ones I get asked most often.
Who am I, and why should you support me?
I’m an independent artist & one of the original founders of the 3DX genre.
A few of us started doing this way back around 2006, armed with a copy of Poser 4 that appeared on the cover of a magazine and a complete lack of any idea where this was all going swept in in the wild west days of the internet.
Over the years, the technology got better. The artwork got better. Guidelines obviously got tighter. And the writing evolved from fairly generic adult comics into proper stories with more fleshed-out characters, bigger worlds and ongoing series.
Almost twenty years later, I’m somehow still here making them… But I need you.
Why should I join Patreon or SubscribeStar?
Good question. The simple answer is that I’m an independent artist and this is what I do for a living.
When you join one of my membership sites, you’re literally helping me pay the bills and put food on the table. In return, that support gives me the time and resources to keep making more artwork, more comics and more awesome kinky stories for you.
It’s a pretty straightforward arrangement. You help keep the lights on. I keep making weird things with elves, demons and girls with some very questionable life choices. Everybody wins.
Why are there two sites?
This is actually pretty simple: choice and backup.
If one platform suddenly changes its guidelines, removes content or simply stops existing, everything isn’t suddenly lost.
There is another home for the work, and members can move from one platform to the other.
Given how much the internet has changed since 2006, I am sure you will agree that putting absolutely everything in the hands of one company seems… unwise.
Are Patreon and SubscribeStar different?
Not really. The core content is basically the same.
SubscribeStar has a few things that had to be removed from Patreon when Patreon updated its guidelines, and it’s also mildly cheaper because SubscribeStar gives me a better percentage of the membership fee. That means I can pass a little of that saving on to you.
Patreon remains the more popular option, probably because it’s the much better-known platform, some people liked the fact that Patreon had ‘Collections’ where I could group the episodes of each series in one place.. but as Subscribestar just added the same thing there is not a lot of separate them.
Whichever you choose, you’ll get access to my catalogue of work, divided into easy-to-navigate categories.
Which tier should I choose?
Premium... Obviously… But I’m possibly a little biased. 😉
There are three main tiers:
Premium
You get access to everything.
If you want the full catalogue rather than worrying about which studio a particular series belongs to, this is the one.
Gonzo Studios
This is mainly home to Fantasyland and related series. If your tastes run towards fantasy settings, kinky elves, lusty orcs, demons and assorted supernatural bad decisions, this is probably the tier for you.
Sexy3DComics
This side of the site concentrates mainly on interracial, cuckold and breeding-themed stories. If that’s your thing, this is probably where you’ll want to be.
How often do I update?
Both Gonzo Studios and Sexy3DComics get a major story update every month, which is normally somewhere between 60 and 150 pages.
Most individual stories or series run for around three to six episodes, so there’s usually an ongoing story to follow – as well as a substantial back catalogue to explore.
On top of that, I normally release two additional shorter comics, stories or image sets every month, which are available to members of both main tiers.
What about the Patreon Base Tier?
Patreon also has a Base Tier. This gives you access to the material released across all tiers, normally consisting of two shorter comics or stories each month.
So if you just want a lower-cost way to support the site and still get something new to read every month, that’s the place to start.
So… Patreon or SubscribeStar?
Honestly, whichever works best for you. If you already use Patreon and like having everything in one place, join me there.
If you prefer SubscribeStar, want the slightly cheaper option, or want access to the small amount of material that can’t be hosted on Patreon, choose that instead.
Either way, you’re directly supporting an independent artist and helping make the next comic possible. And after nearly twenty years of doing this, that’s still pretty damn awesome.
Thank you. ❤️
